Le ciel s’ouvre, l’onde s’étire, le monde s’évide et s’achève où sonne le glas. »

Struck, fractured, beaten by the machine, the sound mass relinquish blocks of clatter, cries out under the acid ribbons, exhales stridencies.

The tunnel borer crushes, saws, undermines, makes the sound rock dance, jams.

Here and there, luminous gaps and brass flights, quickly drowned in the fog.

One no longer distinguishes the vibration of the world from that of the machine, the silence from the sound, the sadness of man from that of matter.

The sky opens, the wave stretches, the world hollows out and ends where the death-knell tolls. »
